The title says it all. The Lithys are open for business!

Over the last three years at Lithium I have had the privilege of working with some of the coolest community implementations and the smartest practitioners, strategists and community professionals at companies all over the globe.

From right here on my door step in the San Francisco bay area, throughout the USA, Canada, over to my homeland of the UK, to the Netherlands, Germany and Finland and on to Australia, companies are creating amazing communities of passionate customers.

Not only that they are producing great results for their companies and great value for their customers.

For the last two years we have celebrated this success in the annual Social Customer Excellence Awards.

The Lithys as we affectionately like to call them, have become a highlight of LiNC and also just a phenomenal record of how companies are transforming their social customer experiences.

You can see the Lithy entries from the last couple of years right here on Lithosphere . The stories are amazing.

If you want to see previous entries, here are our winners from 2010 and 2011

This year we have some familiar categories, and some new ones.

  • Best Social Customer Experience Program - how are you creating and transforming your community into a true social customer experience? How is it integrated with your other programs and is it becoming ingrained in the way you are doing business?
  • Best Global Implementation - how is your multinational company working with community in different theatres, regions, countries or languages?
  • Best SuperFan Story or Insight - are your superfans just incredible? Tell us how they are transforming your business.
  • Best New Community (launched after June 1, 2011) - the category name says it all - tell us why you are the best Lithium community launch since June last year?
  • Best Business ROI - how is your community performing against your business objectives? Are you driving down support costs, increasing customer satisfaction, increasing loyalty or driving revenue?
  • Best Community Technical Implementation - have you extended your community and integrated deeply to other properties? Have you taken your community content, the REST API and created something novel and cool? Are you integrating your community to other business systems?

This quote from the submission terms sounds like a paradoxon to me:

"Only communities launched after June 1, 2011 are eligible for the 'Best New Community' Category. Entries for communities launched after this date will be void."

Thanks Claudius - nice catch. That 'after' was supposed to be 'before'. Corrected now!!
