Our users would like to keep track of recent messages they have posted that were marked as a solution. Perhaps this is another bit of information that could be displayed on the user profile page?
ISSUE:
Following the upgrade to version 9, we've have some internal users note that when viewing the forum in "Topic" view (threaded) that all the post replies are shown at the board view. For long discussions with more than 10 replies or so, this can make the user have to flip through several pages before getting to the next thread.
REQUESTED FUNCTION / IDEA:
Provide a toggle option in user profile controlling threaded view to expand all or collapse all threads. At the board view, implement the familiar [+] [-] type widget next to the discussion balloon icon (or maybe the balloon could have the +/- on it ) to allow users to expand / collapse individual threads to see all replies. This toggle icon would only appear on the board when the user had their profile selected for topic (threaded) view vs linear view.
Currently, we need to manually grant employee user roles to all employees account. We are also looking at the possibility of starting private partner accounts, which would require manual role assignment for all users from the partner organization.
It would be very helpful to have some type of function that automatically assign roles to email domains based on a predefined set of rules.
Another possibility is to have some type of bulk user role management tool that uses a set of logic and variables (perhaps including domain name, IP blocks..etc)
Thanks

Right now, the user profile page basically only shows date registered, number of forum posts and number of tags. It would be great if it would also show number of Ideas posted, Idea comments posted (and probably blog metrics as well, although we don't use them). I think the number of Kudos given / received could also be displayed as we display it in leaderboards.
We have identified that allowing users to actively share their own content or that of other members could help grow the community and add value for our members. Having seen the social bookmarking icons in the Ideas tool, how can we utilize this within all threads, or better yet, all posts?
I envision this as either part of the signature, i.e., check box "Add Social Bookmarking Bar to my Signature," or embedded in the User sidebar of each post (again, maybe an opt-in feature). Alternately, if not available on a post level, add the bar automatically to the title-bar area (on right?) of the first post in a thread. This perhaps would be a community-level auto-opt-in setting with an opt-out checkbox for the message composer.
This is about choices on how to share content - both at the community level and the thread/post level.
I would really like to allow users to save their posting preferences for forum posts somewhere in their profile so if they want to consistently post with the same font, size, color, they don't have to update those selections with each post.
I was surprised at how much of the users' profile was hidden and separated from their ideas and idea comments. Bascially, there's the user's forum screen name and any color, bolding, and little tag that is associated with their forum rank, but their actual rank, # of posts, and their icon/avatar aren't displayed.
I would like to see more of a users' profile (similar to what's displayed next to a user's forum posts) displayed alongside of their ideas and idea comments.
Benefits include:
- Display Community ranks that are specifically related to a member's # of ideas posted & idea comments on the Idea threads (seems a bit odd that forum ranks that are earned through contributions on Ideas are only displayed in the forum)
- Help Product Management recognize which ideas are coming from Community super users, newbies, etc. and take that into account in their responses (e.g. maybe newbie members need a bit more coaching)
- Give more nuanced recognition to active contributors (because only the top customers get their forum screen names bolded and get the little gold star--or its equivalent--next to their name)
It seems like this would dovetail in with Lithium's best practices for driving participation via recognition and superuser engagement.
As we start to promote superusers and particularly official bloggers more heavily, I really like to find a way to provide a more customizable Member Profile page/template.
Scenario:
A promoted Super User or Official Blogger would have the privilege of having an additional layout of the profile page, where we can create a more stylised page. In our case we want to be able to provide a profile headshot, the offical bio, their certifications / qualifications, and some level of branding to denote that they are different and more exclusive to other users.
Again this is intended to be part of the Super User offering, but I could see some communities wanting this on all the time.
Thanks.
I'd like to see a warning feature added. It could be another item in the Options dropdown along with Abuse. Clicking on it would pop up a PM pre-addressed to the forum member with a link to the offending message. The moderator could then add any appropriate comments and send it on its way. Quick and easy semi-automated handling of situations.
It would really be nice if a log of those warnings (and temporary bans, for that matter) were kept for each member that could be accessed via a link or displayed directly on the member's profile so that we don't have to try to keep up with someone's record either in our archives or the private board.

i think there should be a better way to see how many kudos a user has recieved In both profile and forum posts.
So there can be better ways for everyone to see how many kudos each user has!
Maybe under post count in the forum post and uder statistics.
