Current Functionality:

We have lots of wonderful, granular metrics for different types of user behavior--forum posts, replies, ideas, idea comments, blog entries, blog comments, etc.  But there's not an "umbrella metric" that rolls up all of a user's content contributions.

Requested Functionality:

I would like this sort of all-encompassing metric for member's content contributions (e.g. forum posts, replies, ideas, idea comments, blog entries, blog comments).

Business Impact:

This would make reporting Community #'s to management/executives who want to know how much activity we're getting but aren't as interested in the nuanced behaviors or the difference between a forum post and an idea or an idea comment.

I still like the ability to have the granular reporting, but it would be great to have one metric that would roll up everything, so I don't have to pull several reports and add up the #'s.

I really like the new user reports feature.  I notice that I can sort the results by some columns but not all.  I'd really like to be able to sort the results by metrics such as number of posts, kudos, etc. but right now these columns don't have the search functionality.  This is useful because sometimes I would like to see who my top users are in these different areas.

Thanks for the idea Laura. We run into performance issues occasionally while trying to sort a report of this sort since in a large community, it can be pretty intensive. We'll look into this.

Schedule & Send Reports

There are so many great reports in Lithium, so it would be great to add the ability to schedule certain reports to be generated and emailed to me (or any designated user, for that matter) at X interveral.  The same reports would be available, but there would have to be additional components like reoccurence pattern (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly, annually), reoccurrence pattern (e.g. what days of the week of which weeks...like every third Thursday of a month), start date, end date, report format (e.g. Excel, CSV), and recipients.

Use Cases:

Some managers require their team members to log into the forum to read content and/or help answer questions, and I would like to be able to set up scheduled reports to send this information to them every week or every month.

Every week I have to report on certain #'s in terms of forum traffic, and it would be nice to have these numbers sent to me once a week or sent to my manager when I'm out of the office.

Currently "Allow user to access metrics" in the permission screen does not grant access to user reports, and only moderator and admins are able to access user reports.

We have a group of managers who need access to user reports, but I'd like to limit their access to moderator functions. It would be nice to add a separate user permission parameter to grant access to user report, without the need to grant user moderator access.

Enable ability to add and report on multiple metrics in a single report, so you can see trends, correlations, causations, etc. easier.

The different metrics would be color-coded, so you could have the same X and Y axis and easily tell which bar represents which metric.

There would be endless use cases here as you could combine many of the different metrics captured in Lithium.  For example, you could report on page views and posts within the same timeframe; unanswered threads and answered threads within a timeframe; answered threads and accepted solutions; page views and logins; etc.
