New blog launch - The Cool

by Community Manager Community Manager on 06-26-2009 03:43 PM - last edited on 06-26-2009 09:48 PM

Greetings once again!

If you haven't seen it yet, our latest blog has launched today: The Cool: Social Ruminations about Ads, Brands, and Campaigns by Tim Hsu. Tim's debut effort is a post about the Burger King "Whopper Freakout" campaign, take a look when you can: I'm Down With the King.

Welcome Tim!

Uris Library Stacks by eflonWe've been looking for ways to make our documentation more available to the community here for a while now, but we wanted to do it in social way so that we can not just publish the content, but have a conversation about it as well. Then someone said "Why not use one of the blogs?" and there was much slapping of foreheads to be heard. :smileywink:

So I'd like to announce that later this week we will begin posting product documents in the Coming Attractions blog for you to review, comment on and discuss. Susan, the author of Coming Attractions, just happens to be our resident wordsmith and expert in putting thoughts onto the page, so there's no one better to talk about our documentation than her! Let us know what you like a lot, what you like less, and what you'd like to see more of!

Stay tuned!

A new webcast discussion and well-deserved praise!

by Community Manager Community Manager on 06-17-2009 10:52 AM - last edited on 06-17-2009 05:09 PM

It's been a while since my last update here, though perhaps that's a bit of a relief - the last two updates were a pretty big deal so I guess we all needed some time to adjust. :smileywink:

First up is a new discussion area for the webcast, Online Community Health: Give Your Online Community a Check-up. The webcast is sponsored by both ForumOne and Lithium Technologies, and is being held today at 11am Pacific. Participants include Marty Collins of Microsoft, Bill Johnston of ForumOne, and our own Joe Cothrel. Looks like registration is full now, so it's a popular one! During the webcast you can discuss it live on Twitter (hash tag #ochealth) or afterwards you can continue the discussion here. The board will be read-only after July 1st, so be sure to stop by before then to join in!

But now a couple of achievements I'd like to note:

Congratulations are in order for ppriston, who climbed all the way to the #1 spot on our monthly list of Top Kudoed Authors! He's been very active over the last month, posting a lot of really great content so be sure to check it out!

And a round of applause as well to Mark_Hopkins for continuing to blaze a trail through our ranks - the acclaim he's earned among his peers has made him our very first Respected Contributor! He's absolutely earned that seat of honor, as anyone who has spent any time on the Lithosphere can tell you. Please drop him a private note of thanks for helping us all out here!

On behalf of the Lithosphere community, thanks to both of you for all you've given us!
