Lithosphere Birthday Honours List

by Lithium Technologies PaulGi on 09-23-2009 02:53 PM

Queen Elizabeth II has an annual tradition. Each year on her birthday, she bestows honours on members of the British Commonwealth who have shown exceptional service to forwarding the cause of the Commonwealth abroad – these fall in areas including business, arts, music, etc. It’s called the Birthday Honours List (British spelling of course!)

Not that we need an excuse to thank our members for all their contributions, but with the Lithosphere reaching the merry age of 1, we found the perfect opportunity :smileyhappy:. Welcome to the 2009 Lithosphere Birthday Honours!

So a huge thank you shout out to our Top 10 Kudoed Users for 2009 (that’s top 10 and ties, in true PGA Tour fashion).

Paul,

Happy Birthday Lithosphere !  We had a small cupcake on the homepage for our community's first birthday, but we bestowed no honors.  Our 2nd year is coming up for Dec 1, and we'll draw from your fine example and see if we can't recognize those who helped us launch, and those who have helped to keep us moving forward.

While some of the names on your kudo list are familar, I can see a lot of new faces and, and plenty of new ideas and discussion topics showing up in the last 90 days or so.   If this course continues, and I hope it will, I fully expect to see some of these newly emerging leaders high up on the list, and soon!

Mark

Thanks for the comment Mark. Great to hear that you'll be calling out your top contributors. I am a big believer, as we all are at Lithium, that user recognition is a best practice in community user nurture. I know you think along the same lines.

It's unfortunate that in today's world a simple 'thank you' is often overlooked for any help someone provides, but imho it's as strong a motivator as any incentive.

You're welcome, and thanks for the opportunity to participate!  It's an honour (hmm... is that word spelled wrong???) to be in that list.

Now, am I too late for the cake???   ;-)

Jane, I think HRH Queen Elizabeth II would be proud of your spelling!

Nope, that's just our new friend from across the pond delighting us all here with the Queen's English! :smileyhappy:

We've really appreciated all you've done here Jane, and to all our top kudoed users our deepest thanks!
