Hello Lithosphere!

I have a fairly straightforward question...  I hope.

Is it possible to limit a users ability to view tags?  We are considering using tagging as an administrative tool that will only be available to moderators and admins.  These tags will be used for promotion of content into our corporate website.  I can't find a toggle in the Admin for this specific priveledge.

Hi David,

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to prevent a user from viewing tags. However, judging by the fact that you've already received a Kudo for your question, this might be a good candidate for posting on our IDEAS board if you felt like heading over to that area of our community!

Some options that are available around TAGGING include:

• On a Category and Board level, you can enable/disable tagging, tagging leaderboards, and/or top tag clouds.                 

(Community Admin-> General Settings->Tagging Settings)

• On a User level, you can grant/deny a user permission to add and/or manage tags.

(Community Admin-> User Management -> Permissions)

There is a user level preference to hide tags. But it is not available across the board.
